[Bangkok] Chatuchak Weekend Market

Chatuchak Weekend Market (also called Jatujak or JJ Market) is probably the biggest outdoor market you have ever seen. no joke. it covers an enormous 35 acres and contains more than 5,000 stalls. it offers a wide variety of products including household items, clothing, Thai handicrafts, collectibles, foods, and religious artifacts, and has reached a landmark status as a must-visit place for tourists. Chatuchak also houses many of Bangkok’s local independent designers, selling their creations at very reasonable prices. and for my lovely readers who love vintage or vintage-inspired items, Chatuchak is definitely the place to be!

How to Get to Chatuchak:

1. Take the subway (MRT) to Chatuchak Park station, take exit 1 then follow the crowd. You will end up at the clothing section.
2. Hop on the skytrain (BTS) to Mo Chit station, take exit no. 1 and follow the crowd. You will also end up at the clothing section.
3. If you’re interested in plants, go straight to Kampheng Phet MRT station, you will end up in the middle of the market.
4. By bus: Bus no. 3, 26, 29, 34, 39, 59, 63, 96, 112, 134 will get you to the market.

Market Opening Hours:

The weekend market is open on Saturdays and Sundays, 09:00 – 19:00 (most stalls don’t open until AM10:30) and Fridays 18:00 – 24:00. Plant sections are also open on Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 07:00 – 18:00.

en route ✈

this is what i wore on the plane to Bangkok. simple and comfortable… flats that were easy to take off and put back on,  stretchy leggings, and a massive bag to carry all that i need. oh of course no jewelry to avoid trouble at custom, and i also brought a thin jacket for the flight. Thailand is such an amazing place, i can’t wait to share my trip with you! until then i hope you’re having a good week so far ♥

Headscarf Tutorial

so it’s no secret that i’m fond of headscarves and headbands… i feel they’re the easiest way to add a pop to any outfit, and a brilliant tool to cover those dreadful bad hair days =P so here is another headscarf tutorial using a long rectangular shaped scarf, the same one i used in the previous post, Le Bunny Bleu Oxfords, i hope you dig!

start with a rectangular shaped scarf

fold once or twice so it becomes a thin strip

put it around your head

twist the two ends together once or twice (i like to do it twice)

pull the ends to the back and secure with one or two knots
