My daytime skincare routine

I wrote about my night time skincare routine last week, now here is my day time routine =)

Cleaning

Because it is so dry here in Vancouver, especially in winter, I don’t wash my face again in the morning. Instead I use Clinique Mild Clarifying Lotion ($15), the same toner I use for night time to cleanse my face. It is sufficient to remove dirt on my face and tighten skin.

Eyes

Like night time, I use Skin Appetit Optim-Eyes Firming Eye Gel ($8-$12). It is lightweight enough to use during the day and the good thing is that it doesn’t give me those white oily bumps around the eyes. I like to use eye gel before applying face lotion only because I feel that it will absorb better underneath the lotion.

Face Moisturizer

I use a different face lotion for night time because I prefer something lighter for the day. DOVE Sensitive Skin day lotion (around $8) is fragrance free and dye free, which I like. For some reason, I can no longer find this in Vancouver. If you happen to know where I can get a bottle of this, please let me know!

Sunscreen

Sunscreen is very important to my morning skincare routine, not that I’m big on whitening but I just don’t want skin cancer. I use Mentholatum Acnes Medicated UV Tint Milk SPF 30+ PA++ (ranging from $6-$8), and this is the only Asian product currently in my skincare routine. I believe it is a Japanese brand but I got my bottle in Taiwan. It does not medicate acnes or pimples by any means (at least I don’t see it), but it does give your skin a nice tint, almost like a foundation (and because I don’t use foundation, this product gives me a good enough coverage). If you are interested in this product, you can probably find one in Asian cosmetic stores or online.

Easter Bunny Hop

I wasn’t lying when I said that I’m obsessed with cute animal prints. With Easter right around the corner, I think this cozy bunny print knit cardigan from Cooperative is very suitable for the season, wouldn’t you say? and because this cardigan runs a little large, I like to tie a knot in the front so it doesn’t look too slouchy or PJ-like.

While we’re on the subject of Easter and bunnies… anyone going to see the movie Hop? Patty’s super excited to see it because she finds the chicks adorable. I personally think the  minions (from Hop‘s trailer I concluded that the chicks are the minions of Hop) in Despicable Me are way cuter!

Happy April Fool’s Day!
