so we only ended up having one day of sunshine over the weekend. but i’m not complaining. this is Vancouver after all. i went for a bike ride and that was a lot of fun. what did you do over the weekend?
Patty and I had a light lunch yesterday at Salt Tasting Room that was simply delightful. The restaurant is located in a dark alley in Gastown called Blood Alley (please read next paragraph). The restaurant itself is contemporary but unpretentious. The menu is written up on the chalkboard, you get to choose your own cheese, meat, and condiments to go with crusty bread and crackers. We were in a rush and I was hungry, so we ordered sandwiches instead. It’s not inexpensive but I found the quality and service just wonderful. Will probably go back for dinner some time.
This alley and Gaolor’s Mews next to it together is one of my favourite spots in Vancouver. I was told that they used to hold public executions in blood alley square and Gaelor’s Mews was the Location of Vancouver’s first jail. The alley now is lined with garbage bins with some homeless Vancouverites hanging around.
I think I have been spending too much time in cafes. But that’s only because the weather has been so crappy. This is more of a restaurant review post rather than an outfit post, and I apologize for subjecting you to the head shots. The good thing is that according to the weather forecast, I will be seeing the weekend in with the sunshine on my legs in the backyard, followed by a barbecue on the beach and a great concert. So whatever you’re doing this weekend, have a lovely one! dress cute, eat well, and stay up late x
